All I want for Christmas...

a number of years ago we were visiting some family in Mink Crick, ID (yes it's actually Mink Creek, but that just sounds weird)...anyway, the neighbor came over with a little baby miniature donkey. it was the coolest thing ever...I want one. So I mentioned it to someone at work today who told me about something else I might like...and so, my dream is to someday own me a lil mini donkey and some mini cattle...including a lil mini longhorn steer like this. that'd be such good times.

Proud to be an American

My dad is one of my greatest heroes. He is a colonel in the United States Army. He has dutifully and loyally served our great nation for over 30 years. I'm proud to be the son of such a man and officer and have learned a great deal from his example. I have great respect for all who have served and those who are currently serving this country, and hope to honor them every day, but especially today on Veteran's Day. I am proud to be an American.

The eyes of Texas are upon you

on saturday i took charlie to Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium to see colt mccoy and the Texas longhorns take on central florida. seeing a football game there is amazing. there is so much pageantry and tradition...a truly magical feeling...there is no better place to see a football game. the day started off w/ the national anthem, i always love hearing that, and get a special feeling whenever i hear it...this time it was capped off with flyover from some Air Force t-38s...it was awesome.

as we walked into the stadium we saw jordan shipley warming up...thought maybe he was in for a big day...indeed he was, setting a UT single game record w/ 273 yards receiving. including a beautiful 88 yarder running into the end zone right in front of us. it was righteous.

colt went for over 470 yds...HEIStheMAN.

coach mack brown is a living legend for the Texas football program.

will muschamp is next in line.

such good times. hook em horns.

o-who?

what a glorious day. i love college football, and i love winning. the red river rivalry wasn't the shootout we were expecting, it was a penalty-riddled roller coaster of emotion filled with physical football that, unfortunately, saw numerous players go down with injuries. we had fam over to eat rudy's bbq and watch the game...it was so much fun. i lost my voice and clapped my hands raw and bloody...i wanted this game so badly and was very pleased with the win. will muschamp's D pulled us through to victory. good times and hook 'em horns.
